He was predeceased by: his wife Robbie Penn Heaps; and his daughter Sherrill Heaps. He is survived by: his children, Donna Heaps Petty (Bill), David Heaps (Cindy Kendrick) and Jana Heaps Branch (Jeff); his grandchildren, Brian Petty (Susan), Kevin Petty (Sara) and Beth Branch; and his great grandchild Gavin Petty.
