She was predeceased by: her grandmothers, Queen Esther Kirkland (Robert) and Buelah Mae Caffey (Willie); her great-grandparents, Jim Ferguson (Alice) and Walter Long (Willie Mae); her aunt Sarah Shealey (Luther); and her uncles, Robert Kirkland, Jr., Jerry Kirkland, Curtis Pickettand, Willie Miller (Eddie) and Betty Jo Cooper.
She is survived by: her husband Encarlos Smitherman; her sons, Demonte, Lamar Caffey and Devandis Charmel Smitherman; her stepson Rayshaun Bivins; her mother Elder Charles Caffey, Sr. (Janice); her siblings, Jerold Kirkland (Bridgette), Charles Caffey, Jr. (Rosaland), Aaron Caffey, Sr. (Tiffanie), Anthony Rumel Caffey (Jordan), Delencia Johnson (Rodney) and Yolanda Michelle Bivins; her aunt Hazel Bivins of Mobile, AL; her mother-in-law Sandra Smitherman; her sisters-in-law, Alexus Maddox (George), Alexsandria Smitherman, Gabby Browder and Elle Hayes; her uncles, Willie Caffey (Linda) and Kenny Caffey; her close friends, Shaboo Hayes (Tacara) and Naquisha Hale; her friend Farrah Adams; and also, Renae Clay and Adrian Rhinehart.
