He is survived by: his wife Sherry Springfield; and his children, Jason Springfield (Margaret) and Lisa NeSmith (Kerry). He is also survived by five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Coosada Baptist Church and Briarwood Presbyterian Church youth groups.
