It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lavada Ann Carter (Albertville, Alabama), born in Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on March 28, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband William A. Carter; her stepson John Carter; her sisters, Jo Carroll Calloway and Judy Carroll Evans; her adoptive parents, Hamp Carroll and Dora Carroll; and her parent Retta.
She is survived by: her nephews, Tim Calloway, Bruce Evans and Mike Calloway; her son Gerald Ray Burgess, Jr. (Jerri); her stepdaughters, Donna Carter Kracke (Walter) and Tina Carter; her sister Shelby Jean Raper; her grandchildren, Justin Burney, Lauren Houseknecht, Josh Nilsen, Autumn Nilsen, Lavada Wade, Justin Wade, Ashley Arnold, Audra Patterson, Katie Mabeus, David Burgess, Anna Ito, Lawanna Heath, Carter Kracke and Renee Carter; and her brothers-in-law, Raymond Calloway and Charles Burgess. She is also survived by twenty-seven great grandchildren.
