He is survived by: his parents, Russell Smith and Gladys Horton Smith; his wife Reba Ayers Smith; his sister Mary Nell Hughes; his children, Celeste Kennamer, Leslie, Tim Davis, Leigh, Darrell Cooper, Kelly Bourne and Scott Bourne; and his grandchildren, Paul Smith, Riley Davis, Leigh Ellen Davis, Austin Davis, Aleah Davis, Meagan Davis, Kevin Rockett, Kyle Cooper and Sidney Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to Shepherd's Cove Hospice or the Presbyterian Children's Home in Talladega: PO Drawer 577 Talladega, AL 35161.
