He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Carlisle and Lucille Carlisle (Elaine Cameron Mayfield); his stepdaughter Ellison Mayfield Holley; and his stepson-in-law Randy Holley. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Wilbanks Carlisle; and his stepdaughters, Elaine Mayfield Gwaltney (Gene), Danice Wilbanks Carlisle, Sarah Rebecca Carlisle (Nancy Collins) and Meredith Carlisle McMillan (George III).
