It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Jo McCord of Alexander City, Alabama, who passed away on November 1, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Laura Jo McCord to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Joseph and Myra Jane McCord; and her grandparents, Leonard, Lucille Champion, Wheeler and Arbie McCord.
She is survived by: her brother Robert Shane McCord; her uncles, Danny and Zack McCord; and her aunt Carol Champion. She is also survived by numerous loving cousins and many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Et River Road Baptist Church (148 Dean Rd, Alexander City, AL 35010-5711). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to River Road Baptist Church, 148 Dean Road, Alexander City, AL 35010 or to the Athletic Fund in Laura's memory at Benjamin Russell Hisgh School, 225 Heard Boulevard, Alexander City, AL 35010.
