He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvis James and Juanita McAfee; his son James Michael McAfee; and his siblings-in-law, Ralph Hamby, Leon McClendon, Sadie Green and Sandra Cagle.
He is survived by: his wife Sara McAfee (Gilliland); his son Daniel McAfee of Auburn; his daughter-in-law Kari McAfee of Centreville; his grandchildren, Kaylie M. Bynum (Tyler) of Blountsville, Bella Claire and Maleigha Rose McAfee of Centreville; his siblings, Dale McClendon of Gallant, Philip McAfee (Tricia) of Wynnville, Alice Hamby of Wynnville and Rex McAfee of Altoona; his sisters-in-law, Stan Gilliland, Jane Gilliland of Gallant, Sally Hathcock of Gallant, Thomas Green of Gallant and Bo Cagle of Gallant; and his brothers, Rick Adams and John Smallwood.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations should be made to The Bruce McAfee Endowment Grant Fund.
