He was predeceased by : his daughter Valerie Thomas; and his sister Ella Bennifield (Betty). He is survived by : his parents, Rosevelt Vettie Shelton and Estelle Marie Williams; his wife Nancy Shelton; his children, Mickey Shelton (Tori Morgan), Austin McDonald and Cindy Meadows (Gary); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Thomas, Kiara Thomas, Jamey Meadows and Samuel Meadows; and his siblings, Howard Shelton (Kathy), Bill Shelton (Angie), Grady Williams (Annette), Martha Thornton, Ruby Wilkerson and Stella Long.
