She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Fields and Mollie Fields Brasher; her stepfather Charles Brasher; and also Angelynn Luckado. She is survived by: her husband Ricky Messer; her sons, Shon Messer and Chad Messer (Tiffany); her grandchildren, Coleman Messer, Hannah Messer, Luke Messer and Sam Messer; and her siblings, Char Taylor (Johnny), Sandy Norton (Steve), Donna Lisa Brasher and Terry Fields (Sherri). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
