Dorothy left this world on December 10, 2025 at the age of 91, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, J. C. Currie and Mattie Currie; her former husband Alan "Doyce" Waits; and her brother Doyle Currie. She is survived by: her husband Louis Mewbourn; her children, Saundra Carter (Marty), Brian Waits (Paula) and Steven Waits (Kala); her grandchildren, Katelyn, Tara, Seth, Auburn, Jordan, Jared and Carlee; and her sister Mary Estes. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Edgewood Congregational Methodist Church (2700 Brighton Ave, Anniston, AL 36207). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Edgewood Church Senior Adult Ministry.
