It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rilla Wood Cowart of Anniston, Alabama, born in Commerce, Georgia, who passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Paul Wood and Burnette Wood of Missouri; her husband Ralph Cowart; and her siblings, Pauline Scoggins and Lenier Wood.

She is survived by : her sons, Ralph "Buster" Cowart Jr. (Vicky) of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, James Ricky Cowart (Mona) of Anniston, Alabama and Paul Rodney Cowart (Mary) of Cabot, Arkansas; her brothers, Calvin Wood of South Carolina and Grover Gene Wood of Danielsville, Georgia; and her grandchildren, Charity Schaufler (Kenneth Ray), James Ricky Cowart Jr. (Amber), Paige Keith (Nick), Andrea Taylor (Daniel), Amberlee Johns (Josh), Kayla Hare (Devan), Ralph "Trey" Cowart III, Jessica Benz (Johnathan) and Paul Rodney Cowart II. She is also survived by eleven great-great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
