He was predeceased by: his parents, Joshua Gross Higgins and Irene Higgins Kingry; and his brothers, Tim Higgins and Wayne Higgins. He is survived by: his wife Lana G. Higgins; and his children, Marsha L. Higgins and Matt B. Higgins (Dawn).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 1320 Golden Springs Road, Anniston, AL 36207.
