We are sad to announce that on May 31, 2025, at the age of 49, Shannon Marie Matthews of Ardmore, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Alice, Alex Davis and Peter Hutsko; her uncles, Tim Davis, William Davis and Robert Davis; and her father-in-law Doctor Robert "Bob" Mathews.
She is survived by: her husband David Bo Mathews; her parents, Margaret Davis and Michael Davis; her daughter Sarah Eavan Mathews (Luke Moats); her pets, Freya Bruin and Runa Bergeron; her grandmother Margaret Hutsko; her brother Sean Michael Davis (Kamara); her uncle Peter Hutsko (Sue); her cousins, Crystal Smith, Theresa Richards, Adrienne Smith and Riley Smith; her uncles, Ken Davis and Wayne Davis; her cousins, Dirk, William, Loren, Carol and Jared Davis; her mother-in-law Leta Mathews; her brother-in-law Brian Mathews (Michelle); her nieces, Bea (Sam Bunch), Corrina (Andrew Lacy) and Tessa Mathews; her nephew Elliot Mathews; and her close friends, Lori, Eddie Coats, Candace, Jason Daniels, Jenny, Buster Frith, Shelly and Josh Fox.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Most Merciful Jesus Catholic Church (10509 Segers Rd, Madison, AL 35756).
The family requests that donations be made to the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund in care of Huntsville Hospital Foundation or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
