He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Akins and Annie Clyde Still Akins; his wife Mary Frances Akins; and his brothers, Jack Akins, Leon Akins Mary Zelm and Paul Akins.
He is survived by: his sons, Timothy B. Akins (Tracy) of Elberta, AL. and Daniel Akins of New Orleans, LA.; his siblings, Clarence Akins (Bobbie) of Robertsdale, AL. and Peggy Helton of Milton, FL.; his grandchildren, Laura Akins, Oliva Akins and Braxton Akins; and his great grandchild Brooks Hadley. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
