He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Pipkin and Carrie Pipkin; his siblings, Robert Wendel, Ramsey Pipkin and Mattie Stewart (Verlon); and his wives, Gail Dunsford Pipkin and Evelyn Flowers McKinley Pipkin.
He is survived by: his children, Becky Walker (Hodge), Catherine Jordan (Danny) and James Jr. Pipkin (Gwen); his stepchildren, Diane Lassitter (Ray), Greg McKinley (Patty) and Randy McKinley (Debbie); his grandchildren, Brandon Drinkard (Brooke), Tyler Drinkard (Erin), Jimmy III Pipkin (Amanda), Jessica Peed (Brandon), Amelia Jordan and Destin Price (Cali); and his stepgrandchildren, Krista Mauldin (Steven), Shane Lassiter (Amanda), Seth Lassitter (Kalyn), Heather Jones (Jamie), Jessica Hadley (Heath), Miranda Reaves (Chase), Hunter McKinley (Jordan) and Justin McKinley. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren and twelve step-great grandchildren.
