He is survived by: his wife Doris Cunningham Van Pelt; his children, Mike Van Pelt (Ginny), Gerri Van Pelt McDonald, Beth Drew (Steve), Janie Carpenter (Jimmy) and Julie Brantley (Jerry); his grandchildren, Sandi Drew Sims (Travis), Ryan Stewart, Nicholas Drew (Jocelyn), Kyle Carpenter (Maria), Keri Carpenter, Bradley Lowery, Kristen Carpenter, Michael Lowery, Melanie McDonald and Jessica Lowery Bishop (Matthew); and his great grandchildren, Drew Sims, Asher Sims and Eleanor Drew.
