He was predeceased by : his parents, King David Cotton and Evelyn Lanier-Cotton; his daughter Vicky Lynn Bell; and his siblings, John Cotton, Mable Edmiston, Ann Beasley and Marjorie Troutman.

He is survived by : his wife Katie Cotton; his daughters, Carol Dreadin (Glen) of Huxford, AL and Stephanie Conway (Chris) of Bon Secour, AL; his siblings, Stacy Cotton (Suzanne) of Covington, GA, Gene Cotton (JoAnn) of Robinsonville, AL and Linda Helton (Don) of Atmore, AL; and his grandchildren, Benjamin Daniel (Ann Heathe), Russell O'farrell, Steven O'farrell (Raquel), Lee Cruit (Michelle), Les Cruit (Pam) and Allison Clark (Josh). He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
