He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank C. Thomasson and Annie E. Ward Thomasson; his wife Beatrice Thomasson; and his brothers, Leon Carl Thomasson and Marvin Thomasson.

He is survived by : his son Lester Dorrell Thomasson, Sr. of Andalusia; his grandson Lester Dorrell Thomasson, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Emma Vai Thomasson of Fairhope and Elizabeth Ashtynn Thomasson of Phenix City, AL; and his great great grandchild Naomi Abel Thomasson.
