It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Atley A Kitchings Jr. (Birmingham, Alabama), who passed away on October 4, 2018, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jane Langley Kitchings. He is survived by: his parents, Atley Asher Kitchings, Sr. and Marion Beulah Mudd Kitchings; his children, Jane Marlea Kitchings Foster (John) of Birmingham and Atley Langley Kitchings (Edie) of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Ashley Jane Foster (Birmingham), Asher Langley Kitchings, Elisabeth Gaillard Foster and Andrew Connor Kitchings; his siblings, John Taylor Kitchings and Grace Kitchings Hannah; and his grandchild Ole Miss. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a scholarship that has been established in his honor at the Birmingham Kiwanis Foundation-the Atley Kitchings Youth Service Scholarship, 2019 4th Ave. North, Birmingham, AL 35203.
