He was predeceased by: his grandparents, George William Spengler and Pearl Meadows Spengler; his parents, Robert Hans Clausen Sherman and Mary Lee Spengler Moffet; his stepmother Josephine Sherman; and his brother Carl Hans Sherman Moffet.

He is survived by: his wife Leah Morrison Sherman; his sister-in-law Catherine Bohm (Russ); his great-nephews, Kyle and Cory Barton; his nephew Nick Alan Moffet; his sister-in-law Rebecca Morrison Dunn (late Burton); his nephew Charles Burton Dunn, Jr.; his niece Jennifer Boerner Dunn; his great-niece Emma Grace Dunn; his great-nephews, William Lane Dunn and John Burton Dunn; and his pets, Bama and Maggie. He is also survived by extended family and friends.

Barry was thrilled to connect with Alex and his wife Ruth though COVID and illness did not allow a face-to-face meeting.
