He was predeceased by: his parent Thelma Anders Scivley; his former wives, Susie Marie Alvis and Nita C. Gowdy; and his sisters, Bernice McRae (Neal) and Elsie Ernest (Glen).

He is survived by: his sons, Dale (Kathy), Dee (Suzy) and Don (Teri); his grandchildren, Michael (Jaime), Brian (Merilyn), Lauren McGiboney (Brad), Jennifer Scivley, Jessica McCormick (Adam) and Hannah Braswell (Jared); and his sister Peggy Moss. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
