She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. John F. Gay; her mother E. P. Pruitt, Jr. of Birmingham, AL.; and her brother Dr. E. P. Pruitt III of Dothan. She is survived by: her sibling's children, Robert L. Pruitt, Jr. (Lee) and Cassandra Duke (Ryan) of Kernersville, NC. She is also survived by 5 grand nieces.
