She was predeceased by: her parents, Meyer Simon and Bessie Goldfarb Simon; her husband A. R. "Buddy" Mazer; and her son Stephen Yale Mazer. She is survived by: her son Randy Mazer (Glynda); and her grandchildren, Stephen Mazer (Suzanne) and Jennifer Horrigan (Ian). She is also survived by four great granddaughters and one great grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gertrude and A.R. Mazer Fund of the Grafman Endowment Fund, Temple Emanu-El 2100 Highland Avenue, Birmingham, Alabama 35205.
