She was predeceased by: her husband Billy R. Sims; and her brother Gilbert McCarley. She is survived by: her children, Pam Hand (David) and Scott Sims; and her grandsons, Joshua Sims and Ethan Hand (Caroline).

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Helena United Methodist Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
