She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Alvin Simpson Sr.; her parents, Curvis Tarence and Nellie Tarence of Tarrant City; her son Charles A. Simpson Jr. of Pleasant Grove; and her sisters, Virginia Heuer of Pleasant Grove and Estelle Brookshire (Eddie) of LaGrange, GA..

She is survived by: her daughters, Kay Simpson McCarty (David) and Robyn Simpson Hontzas (Arther); her grandchildren, Joshua McCarty (Shelly) and Chloe A. Hontzas; and her great grandchildren, William of Birmingham and Nicholas McCarty of Birmingham. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
