She is survived by: her children, Cathy Cowling Allen, Leonard Elliott Cowling (Carolyn) and Timothy Franklin Cowling (Jeannie); and her sister Barbara Smith. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.
