She was predeceased by: her brother James Earl Higginbotham; and her son-in-law Doug Mewbourne. She is survived by: her husband Bill; her son Tommy; her brother T. E. "Sneed" Higginbotham; her children, Deb Mewbourne and Bill McGinnis (Teresa); her grandchildren, Jami Potter (Jody), Tracey Nunnally (Chris), Jan Smith (Wayne), Craig Mewbourne (Robin) and Jennifer Lang (Luke); and her great grandchildren, Faith Potter, Joe Potter, Tait Nunnally, Noelle Potter, Ella Nunnally, Wales Smith, Camp Smith, Mac Nunnally and Anna Mewbourne.
