He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas P. Meador and Marie Knight Meador; and his sister Connie Meador Bannister. He is survived by: his wife Leslie Meador; his brothers, Michael Meador and Bill; his siblings-in-law, Kathy McCargo and Mark Bannister; and his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Meador, David Meador, Brooke McCargo Haynes and Adam McCargo.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
