He was predeceased by: his father Leon Kellon Smith; and his stepfather Roy Blink. He is survived by: his wife Sheryl Smith; his mother Marjorie Jenkins Smith Blink; his daughter Kellie Dingus (Jon); his granddaughters, Ella Rose Daube and Sara Grace Dingus; his sisters, Cheryl Brown (Jimmy) and Lana Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Brittany, Austin, Caroline, Jacey, Krystal, Donnie, Bobby, Stephanie and Bart.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Shelby County Humane Society.
