She was predeceased by: her parents, Rocoe Lee Goins and Amanda Mayfield; her husband Rufus Patterson; her siblings, Obie Mayfield, Jeff Mayfield, Daniel Mayfield, Alfred Mayfield, Adlee Mayfield, Danibelle Mayfield, Claudia Mayfield, Willie Mae Goins and Maggie Goins; her children, Vester C. Howard Jr., Jeff Howard, Yvonne Patterson, Shawntell Patterson and Tommy Patterson; and her grandchildren, Paula McQueen and Ruby Washington.
She is survived by: her children, Rufus Patterson Jr., Dorothy Kidd, Mary Gussin, Victoria Patterson Murphy, Francine Townsend, Patricia Bright, Joy Patterson and James Patterson; and her nieces, Jeanette, Jean and Kimberly. She is also survived by 22 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, and 9 Great Great Grandchildren.
