He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete W. Allen and Zillah Durrett Allen; his wife Sydney "Sydie" Smith Allen; and his grandson Sidney "Sid" Fitzgerald Ortis. He is survived by: his children, Thomas "Rett" Durrett Allen, Jr. and Lynn Allen Ortis (Scott); and his grandchildren, Zach Moehle, Andrew "Andy" Allen Ortis (Ellen), Louis Gray Ortis, Katherine "Katie" Alina Ortis and Elizabeth "Elle" Daria Ortis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
