It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Lewis Sr. (Birmingham, Alabama), who passed away on August 29, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Lewis and Jennie Evans Lewis; his son Walter Earl Lewis, Jr.; his stepsons, Samson Lawson, Jr. and Frederick Lee Lawson; and his siblings, Joe Mayes, Robert Mayes, Christine Burton, Bennie Ruth Mayes, Mary Alice, Juanita Taylor and Sam Mayes.

He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Lynn Lewis-Woods (Rodrequis); his stepson Dywane E. Lawson; his grandchildren, Tremaine Antonio Lewis (Monique), Bianca Mercedes Lewis, Brandi Alexis Lewis and Gabriel Elijah Lewis; and his great grandchildren, Nalani, Kyra, Kaci, Tremaine, Jr. and Tru. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
