He was predeceased by : his mother Barbara D. Colburn; his mother-in-law Joanna Dean Alderson; and his grandparents, Albert, Eula Mae Colburn, Jessie and Mauvrine Cochran.

He is survived by : his wife Consuela "Connie" Colburn; his children, Cortney Colburn (Samantha) of Brent, Rusty Colburn (Alana) of Cottondale, Dakota Colburn of Holly Pond, Kody Colburn (Collier) of Tuscaloosa, Christopher Fricks of Tuscaloosa, Zack Fricks (Becca) of Tuscaloosa and Cherokee Brown (Woodrow) of Holly Pond; and his brothers, Greg Colburn of Jackson, MS and Dwight Pugh of Jackson, MS. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
