He is survived by: his wife Jean Wilks of Brundidge; his children, Jeff Barr, Montgomery Dansby and Jennifer Dansby (Jackie); and his siblings, Robert Wilks (Leola), Sam Wilks (Amy), Mable Carter, Ann Slaughter and Kathy Jacob (Jake). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
