She is survived by : her children, Kay Richardson (Brian) of Waynesville, NC, Leigh Hazelgrove (Ralph) of Mt. Dora, FL, Lyle Broughton (Alana) of Butler, AL and Kerry Norwood (Tina) of Buter, AL; and her grandchildren, Jordan Richardson (Brandie), Ryan Hazelgrove, Tim Hazelgrove (Cheryl), Matt Hazelgrove (Kayce), Joy Owens (Tim), Zoey Broughton, Carter Broughton, Gracie Hall, Katie Wiggins (Will), Kelsey Norwood, Barry Norwood (Karen), Dixie Norwood and Robbie Norwood. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.

Betty Adams wrote a sympathy message

“Betty Claire and I were childhood friends and classmates. We were graduated of Escambia County High School in Atmore, Alabama. She was a beautiful girl, who wore beautiful clothes, and looked like a model. Her classmates adored her. We lost touch over the years, and I just learned of her passing today. Please know that all of you have my deepest sympathy. Betty Bartel Adams”
