He was predeceased by : his parents, Herman Harris Sparrow and Ida Bush Sparrow of Lavaca; and his siblings, Hermia Sparrow Napper, William Sparrow (Bill), Bush Sparrow, Anna Mary Sparrow Norwood, Winston Sparrow and Sara Sparrow Rentz.

He is survived by : his wife Clariece Waite Sparrow of Gilbertown; his children, Steve Sparrow (Rebecca) of Rockville, Karen Sparrow Hilgartner (Jim) of Montgomery and Dan Sparrow (Michelle) of Marietta, Georgia; his sister Wylda Sparrow of Pensacola, Florida; and his grandchildren, Chris Tucker, Carey Tucker, Katherine Tucker, Cecilia Sparrow, Harris Sparrow and Benton Sparrow. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Butler or Hopewell Baptist Church of Lavaca.
