She was predeceased by: her parents, John M. Rylant and Annie L. Rylant; and her brother Louie G. Rylant. She is survived by: her husband Stephen D. Cowart of Calera; and her daughters, Stephanie (Fred Iffland) and Sambo. She is also survived by other extended family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in her memory to Calera Baptist Church or the Shelby County Humane Society.
