He was predeceased by: his mother Cora Esta Thornton; and his siblings, Charles Thornton and Marcelle Hutto. He is survived by: his stepfather Henry J Boggs; his wife Ramona Mitchell Thornton; his daughters-in-law, Cynthia Diane Dean (Lamar Dean), Kelly Renea Martin (Eric Martin), Miriam Anetta Travis (Charles Travis) and Sherry Gaynell Hollis (John Hollis); his grandchildren, Caleb, Kristen, Joshua, Ben, Savannah, Michael, Nathaniel, Michaela and Bethany; his great grandchildren, Daniel, Evan, Elisabeth, Julian and Serenity; and his sister Patricia Miller. He is also survived by several sister in laws and brother in laws.
