He was predeceased by: his wife Caroline Marie Henry; his parents, Russell Henry and Perma Vanbuskirk Henry; his siblings, Alton Henry, Bruce Henry, Mark Henry, Mary Henry and Bobbie Henry; and his grandchildren, Robyn Harris and Kayla Cummings.
He is survived by: his children, Cammie Gustin (Chris), Barbara Mills, Joy Cummings (Steve), John Henry Jr. and Bruce Henry (Renee); and his sisters, Bernice Simpson and Leona Mylnek. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
