He was predeceased by : his parents, Kathleen Burnett and Nim Burnett; and his siblings, John Burnett and Jennette Burnett. He is survived by : his wife Debra Susan Burnett; his son Brandon Scott Burnett; his daughter-in-law Michelle Burnett; his son Samuel Keith Burnett; his daughter-in-law Julie Burnett; his grandchildren, Dylan Burnett, Brianna Burnett, Chloe Burnett, Hannah Burnett, Chase Burnett and Addisyn Burnett; his great grandchild Delilah Burnett; and his brother Lynn Burnett.

In lieu of flowers Sammy requested that donations be made to the Shelby County Humane Society in his name.
