She was predeceased by : her parents, Willie Jackson Smith and Stella Myrick Smith; her husband Mitchell Pongerayter; her siblings, Woodrow Smith (Helen), Wayland Smith, Ellen Stacey (David), Ollie McPherson Myrick (Leonard) and Trudy Inez Owens; and her grandchildren, Michael and Sarah Pongerayter.

She is survived by : her children, Mike Pongerayter (Linda), Betty Fedrick (Terry) and Paul Pongerayter (Janet); and her grandchildren, Tara Pongerayter Reaves (Kyle), Thomas Henderson, Gail Henderson Rickles (Ricky), Mitch Henderson, Cody Pongerayter, Jake, Brandon, Luke and Katie Fedrick. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
