She was predeceased by : her parents, Bert Lanier and Margaret Sheriff; her siblings, Tony Lanier and Debra Lanier; her niece Amanda Lanier; her nephew Sidney Lanier; and her father-in-law Bill Barnes.

She is survived by : her husband Richard J. Barnes; her children, Brandon Barnes (Miranda) and Nancy Vickery (Jarrod); her grandchildren, Hannah, Emma, Connor, Oliver Vickery and Beau Barnes; and her mother-in-law Patricia H. Barnes.
