He was predeceased by : his parents, Margery Young and Ervin Young. He is survived by : his wife Carolyn Young; his children, Thomas Young Jr. (Tammy) and Mary Young; his grandsons, Brady Veazey and Bryson Sims; his sister Martha Richey (John); and his siblings-in-law, Charles Bell (Brenda) and Rose Murphy (Robert). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunt, uncle, and cousins.
