Wendall Rodney Akin Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wendall Rodney Akin of Childersburg, Alabama, who passed away on October 24, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Erma Akin and Charles Akin Sr.; his daughter Sonya Akin; and his sister Patricia Reeves. He is survived by: his wife Shelia Akin; his daughters, Candace Akin-Allen (Walter), Teresa Watson-Edge (Ronnie) and Penny Finn; his brother Charles Akin (Janet); his grandchildren, Mikayla Cook, Anthony "TyTy" Akin, Raven Smith, Dustin Pressley, Shae Harper and Paige Matheson-Hughes (Shane); and his great grandchildren, Ethan Pressley and Joel Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronnie's memory may be made to his loving wife, Shelia Akin.
