He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Wesley Williams and Stella Stevens Williams; and his sister Evelyn W. Harris. He is survived by: his sons, Mack Williams, Clayton and Sam Williams, Jr. (Kristy); and his brother Garner Hill Williams (Elizabeth). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
