He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Barger and Ruby Barger; and his siblings, Mack, Riley, Randy, Duck and Merle Gwin.

He is survived by: his son Darrell (Angelia); his grandchildren, Brooke Barger, Lizzie Barger, Bryant Yeates and Tanner Yeates; and his siblings, Tim Barger, Carol McFerrin and Denise Dennis.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude.
