He was predeceased by : his wife Ivalee L. Alverson; his parents, Hoyt Alverson and Mary Alverson; and his brothers, Roger Alverson, Gary Alverson and Huey Alverson.

He is survived by : his children, Mary Alverson and Robert Lee Alverson (Paige); and his grandchildren, Dallas Alverson and Alexis Alverson. He is also survived by sister, Judy Southern; and many nieces and nephews.
