He was predeceased by: his daughter Jeannine Hill; his grandson Jon McAfee; his wife Bonnie Hancock McAfee; his son Charles Ray "Chuck" McAfee; his granddaughter Bethany Tannen McAfee; and his siblings, Iva Lee Brown, Leldon McAfee and Donald McAfee.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Julie McAfee of Madison, AL and Landon McAfee; and his sisters, Dorothy Hancock of Cullman, AL, Wynona Hyde and Lawanna Greer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
