He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis L. and Bessie Hancock; his siblings, Melva McAfee, Elwin Hancock and Dale Hancock; and his great great grandchild Joseph Bankston.

He is survived by: his wife Delma Hancock; his children, Debbie Couch (Michael), Janet Wix (Doug) and Steven Hancock (Dawn); his sisters, Dorothy Hightower and Carolyn Gurganious (Bob); and his grandchildren, Rachel Bankston, Katie Wood (Justin), Fay Dukes (Bill), Shelby Couch, Michael Spraggins (Tanya) and Alex Hancock. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
